Earwax filters, wipes, spray, drying capsules and batteries: these are the products that clean and power your hearing aids. They are available in our Morges and Vevey centres, for collection on site or postal delivery. Prices include VAT. Collection in Morges or Vevey, or postal delivery. ## Hearing aid batteries: what applies to all three sizes When the battery is nearly empty, your devices usually give two long, low beeps. You then have about 30 minutes of use left before the device switches off. Open the battery compartment, take the used battery out and drop it into a collection point for used batteries: a used battery cannot be reused. To activate a new battery, turn the disc on the packaging until a battery is released, then peel off the protective sticker. Removing it lets air into the battery and activates the zinc-air technology. Activation cannot be undone: putting the sticker back does not deactivate the battery. Wait about 30 seconds after removing the sticker, then insert the battery into the compartment with the «+» sign visible and close it. Your device is ready to use. PowerOne hearing aid batteries are zinc-air batteries with no added mercury. They use zinc and the oxygen in the air to produce the energy your hearing aids need to work. - Low battery signal: two long, low beeps, about 30 minutes of use left - Used battery: take it to a collection point, never reusable - Activation: turn the disc, peel off the sticker, wait about 30 seconds - Insertion: «+» sign visible, then close the compartment - Zinc-air technology with no added mercury ## Wipes and spray: precautions and how often to clean Phonak wipes and spray are intended for cleaning hearing aids and hearing protection. Do not use them to clean your ears and avoid any contact with the eyes. Never spray the spray directly onto the device, nor in or near the ears and eyes. It stops earwax and dirt from getting into the receiver and so helps maintain good sound quality. The filter is a tiny round white disc. It goes straight into the opening of the receiver and becomes all but invisible once fitted. Each pack holds eight filters, each mounted on a small replacement rod with two ends: one end pulls the used filter out, the other inserts the new one. We recommend checking your filter regularly and replacing it about every two months, or more often if you produce a lot of earwax. Replace it as well if the filter is visibly blocked with earwax, if your device sounds weaker or muffled, or if your device no longer produces sound properly. To replace it: if your device has a dome, remove it gently to reach the filter. Take a new rod, push the empty end into the used filter, then pull straight out to remove it, without twisting the rod. Turn the rod round and insert the new filter into the receiver opening; press gently until it is properly seated, then pull the rod straight out. The filter stays in place. Throw the rod away with the old filter, and refit the dome properly if you had removed it. These filters are used with the great majority of Phonak hearing aids, including many receiver-in-canal and in-the-ear devices. Some Phonak models do use another type of earwax filter, however. Use one wipe to clean your hearing aids and earpieces. Run it over every surface of the device and the earpiece to remove earwax and dirt. If needed, rub firmly but gently on the areas where earwax has built up. The wipes are single use: throw them away after use. The wipes contain a small amount of alcohol, in a solution designed specifically for cleaning hearing aids. Thanks to the generous amount of cleaning fluid in the refill, they stay well soaked and rarely dry out. The dispenser is free of charge, one per customer. This refill tops it up, without a new dispenser. The refill holds the wipes wound into a roll. First remove the dispenser lid, then take the empty refill out. Careful: some liquid may remain at the bottom of the pouch. Cut the top off the new refill and place it in the dispenser. Before closing, take the wipe on the outside of the roll and feed one of its corners through the slot in the lid. Close the dispenser: it is ready to use. Tip: if a wipe does not come away easily, hold the base of the wipe with one hand while pulling with the other. Tear the top of the sachet open, take the wipe out and unfold it completely. Then use it to clean your hearing aids and earpieces, rubbing firmly but gently to remove earwax and dirt. Each wipe is single use and must be thrown away after use. This set combines a cleaning spray with a small brush. Spray a small amount onto a clean, dry cloth, then rub your hearing aids and earpieces firmly but gently to remove earwax and dirt. Never spray the product directly onto the devices. If your hearing aids have accidentally fallen into water, if you sweat a lot or if you are in a particularly humid environment, it is recommended to dry them daily or weekly, depending on how much moisture they have taken in. Place the capsule in the carrying case or in the charger together with your hearing aids, paper side visible and facing up: that is the side through which the capsule absorbs moisture. During and after drying, always keep the case or charger closed, so that the capsule does not absorb moisture from the surrounding air. Replace the capsule when it turns from bright yellow to pale yellow, or after one month of use at the latest.
