Behind-the-ear (Audéo)

The main housing of this hearing aid is completely hidden behind this woman's small ear.  The thin wire is also barely visible in front of the ear and you will also barely notice the flexible silicone tip which is hidden inside the ear canal.

In-the-Ear (Virto)

This custom-made hearing aid made of rigid titanium fits entirely inside this woman's small ear, but it is still visible from the side.  It will be less visible in a larger ear canal, for example in a man's ear.

Performance categories

How to choose the right category of hearing aid?

Phonak hearing aids are available in 4 performance categories; 90, 70, 50 and 30. Which one is right for you depends on your daily needs and wishes.

Most people, including those with hearing problems, understand surprisingly well in quiet environments. It is mainly in noisy situations that many have difficulty following a conversation. Choose your hearing aid based on the range of programs and features it offers. For example, a "90" hearing aid is ideal for understanding a group discussion in a noisy place. A category "30" hearing aid should suffice if you have mostly one-on-one conversations in quiet places. Make the right choice by trying multiple categories during your 3-week free trial.
