Reimbursement for your hearing aids
Who can help finance the purchase of your hearing aids?
Following the purchase of your hearing aids, these institutions may reimburse you a flat rate, depending on your age and hearing loss, among other factors. For all the institutions, the reimbursement decision is normally based on the result of an audiological assessment carried out by an approved ENT expert doctor.
In all the cases, we will help you will guide at every step of the way to navigate through the reimbursement process.
AVS If you are a beneficiary of AVS pensions, the AI-AVS office pays 1,237 francs every 5 years for 2 devices (or 630 francs every 5 years for 1 device) if the overall loss of both ears reaches 35%.
AI If you are not yet a beneficiary of AVS pensions, or if you were reimbursed for your old devices before receiving AVS pensions, the AI-AVS office pays 1,650 francs every 6 years for 2 devices (or 840 fr every 6 years for 1 device) if the overall loss of 2 ears reaches 20%. In addition, AI pays 130 and 200 francs per year per ear for repairs and 40 francs per year per ear for batteries, even if you have rechargeable hearing aids.
AC Your supplementary insurance may pay a lump sum, depending on your policy.
PC Your municipality may provide additional benefits, depending on your situation.
ProSen After payment of the other funds on this page, ProSenectute may pay the difference up to 2175 fr for a “standard” case or 3200 fr for a “complex” case, if eligible.
SUVA In the event of hearing loss of at least 20% due to work, SUVA pays 2,175 francs every 6 years for a “standard” case or 3,200 francs for a “complex” case. In addition, normally all repairs, upon presentation of a quote if more than 300 fr per ear.
AMF In the event of hearing loss of at least 20% due to military service, the AMF pays 2,175 francs every 6 years for a “standard” case or 3,200 francs for a “complex” case. In addition, normally all repairs, upon presentation of a quote if more than 300 fr per ear.
TAXES In the event of significant hearing loss (55dB on both ears according to ProSenectute 2020 Buying Guide): 2,500 francs annual tax deduction under “Disability-related costs”. Please check with your accountant.
